For anyone interested in golfing while here for the wedding, we will be organizing an 18 hole scramble.  We will be heading to Anguilla by boat to enjoy the brand new Aurora Golf Club.  Our friends at Boomerang Charter SXM are sponsoring our boat trip to Anguilla for our golf tournament. 

Good new is Anguilla has dropped all entry requirements so it will be an easy trip for all.  We will be meeting at 8am at the Police Boat Dock in Simpson Bay for pickup!  This is about a 20 minute walk from the Simpson Bay Resort.  We will return to that same dock by 5pm!

Club rentals have been arranged for those who requested rentals.  

Cost will be about $200 per person without rentals, $250 with rentals.

Today is all yours.  Enjoy some time for some rest and relaxation.  Check out the recommendations tab for things to do during the day.

Feel free to relax at the hotels pools/beach or check out beach bars such as Karakter, Mary's Boon, Indigo Bay, Rainbow, Coco Beach, Le Temps, etc.  Also Loterie Farm is a pretty special experience for those who have never visited!  The best way to book anything ahead of time is through Facebook messenger for these bars/restaurants.  

There is a new beach club at Mullet Bay that we recommend called Kalatua.  We recommend booking chairs ahead of time since it could be busy.

6:30pm-9:30pm - Mary-Beth and Jim McCormack would like for you to join us for a Welcome Party at Palapa Grill this evening for our friends and family traveling in to St. Maarten.  Dinner & Drinks will be served.   This will be an Adults Only event and we can provide recommendations on babysitters if needed.  This is a 20 minute walk from Simpson Bay Resort down a hill and past the bridge or a 5 minute walk from Royal Palm Resort.  To make it a shorter walk we recommend stopping at the Yacht Club for Justen's favorite espresso martini on the way!  Otherwise you can ask Simpson Bay Resort if you can grab the shuttle down (limited service) or take a taxi from the hotel which takes about 4 minute drive.

Caribbean Chic Attire is recommended.  Leave the blazers & ties at home, think linen, slacks, loafers and sundresses.   

Friday 11/11/2022

Keep in mind today is Sint Maarten's Day!  This is one of the biggest holidays of the year on the island and therefore all grocery stores, corner stores, pharmacies, stores will be closed on both sides of the island.  This holiday commemorates the sighting of the island by Christopher Columbus on this day in 1493.  Restaurants and bars will be open. 

The Barrett's will be hosting a beach day at Le String on Orient Beach.

Today we will be providing buses from Simpson Bay Resort to Orient Beach to enjoy an afternoon at Le String Beach Bar.  Le String is one of our favorite beach bars on island and they are our second family here in St. Maarten.  We want to show all of our family and friends the place that Justen and I have shared so many great memories together and with others.  Jean Henri, Gladys, Enor, and Sev can't wait to display why Le String is our favorite.  We will have the restaurant/beach and bar area to ourselves but we will be a large group for a small but mighty staff!

Casual Lunch & Justen/Marci's Signature Drinks will be Provided!  

Buses will leave Simpson Bay resort at 10:30am and trip will take 30-40 minutes depending on traffic as we are headed to the French side of the island today.  For those coming from alternate hotels in the area, feel free to walk over to Simpson Bay and jump on the bus.  The meeting spot is along the "main road" through Simpson Bay resort.  Specifically across from the parking lot where the Red Piano is heading towards the beach (next to the Security Shack). Buses will leave Le String around 5pm to head back to the hotels!  Kids are invited to join.

For those looking to head over on their own, taxis are available at the hotel consistently and just let them know Orient Beach, head down the end towards the casual beach bars, Le String Beach Bar.  The Beach Bar can book return taxis or you can jump on the bus on the way back.

This is a casual beach day so bathing suit attire is perfect.  There will be lounge chairs and umbrellas provided plus there is a covered restaurant for those looking to escape the sun.  There is a full bathroom on site.

Our favorite musicians on island will be at the Red Piano tonight (located at Simpson Bay Resort) for those looking for live music walking distance away, show starts at 8pm.
